That’s because a person's body temperature will naturally peak and decline during the course of a 24-hour day. The higher temperatures will be in the late afternoon and the lowest temperatures at approximately 5 a.m. Sleep usually begins when your body temperature drops, so a cooler room can encourage a more restful night’s sleep.
Ideally, people should sleep in a cool 65F-degree room, or somewhere between 60F and 67F degrees. Ultimately, it’s really about how you feel and what you are most comfortable with, but these are general guidelines to try if you are looking to improve your quality of sleep. Studies have shown that a warmer sleeping environment may increase the likelihood that a person will wake-up throughout the night.
Hot sleepers will try a variety of techniques to find greater comfort at night. This can mean blasting the air conditioning or having a fan blowing non-stop.
